About Professor Maja

Professor Maja

Sociologist, professor, author, writer, apology-hater, confidence-builder and recovering make-up addict.

She currently teaches at McMaster University and Mohawk College, and is the CEO of “ALL IN” Inc., a women’s leadership organization that gives women the communication tools to speak up with confidence at work and get what they want in life.

Maja and her husband Steve are raising their daughter to be her own damn boss, who understands Barbie doesn’t need to be saved by Ken!

Early in the morning, you can find her working on her latest research project with a cup of Double Bergamot Earl Grey tea in hand. While Maja has perfected the art of boundaries with humans, she can never say no to her 180 lb Great Dane, Cooper. Her favourite kiss-proof lipstick is Play with Fire by Rimmel, she reads the dictionary for fun (no, really), and she hates apologies.

Her third book is coming out in late 2018. Stay tuned!

  • I wish I’d heard you some 25 years ago. Particularly liked your ‘segment’ on the Social today. Learn to say NO; we cannot do everything all the time. Sincerely hope that your message reaches all the young ladies today.

    • Hello Nasreen, Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. Yes, I agree, we cannot do it all and we need to stop making that a goal. It’s for all ages, the demands don’t ease up….learning to say no can help us declutter our lives. Thanks again.

  • Hi professor Maja. Caught your interview on the social. Sounds to me like you label all men in the same category. Let me tell you as a husband I do 95% of the cooking, baking. I do laundry and I clean the house. I don’t just do it once and a while but I do it everyday. That’s after I work An 8 hr day. Then I do all the canning of vegetables and all the yard work like flower beds gardens and grass cutting. Not to mention my painting that I do for other people in between all of the house and yard work I do, pulse look after the foster children that we have. So I took offence to your interview because you make it sound like the women keep the house running. I can tell you by experience that this is not the case. I know a lot of men that do the same as me. So I think it’s unfair to label the man of the house as you did. Just had to let you know
