So, I hate boxing, but I love Rhonda Rousey. Weird, right? You can’t help but love Rhonda. She’s an mixed martial artist and judoka. She is UFC’s current Bantamweight champion. She has dominated every opponent in the ring. She was WON every single fight in the 1st round by an arm-bar move. Oh yeah, she also has an Olympic medal in judo (Summer 2008).
She started a female empowerment campaign called don’t be a “DO-NOTHING-BITCH.”
And, she called out Floyd Mayweather for his wife-beating habits. Not many men in sports broadcasting want to call Floyd Mayweather the abuser that he is…..and she did. Watch this 28 second video:
She says: “I wonder how Floyd feels being beat by a woman for once,” she said. “I’d like for him to pretend to not know who I am now” Hell. Yeah.
For a summary of the domestic violence victims of Floyd Mayweather, read this Huff Post article. (he also beats up women in front of his own kids…..and this guy is still beloved and getting endorsements).
This is Rhonda explaining her new female empowerment campaign:
I have this one term for the kind of woman that my mother raised me to not be. I call it a ‘do nothing bitch.’ The kind of chick that just tries to be pretty and get taken care of by somebody else. That’s why I think it’s hilarious when people say my body looks masculine. I’m like, ‘listen, just because my body was developed for a purpose other than fucking millionaires, doesn’t mean it’s masculine.'”
Mic drop. Whoa…….
She’s not easily intimidated.
She doesn’t back down from failure.
She doesn’t shy away from negotiating more for herself. She’s confident and loves to talk about her success!! She is unabashedly driven, determined and fearless.
According to Forbes, she is now the 8th highest-paid female athlete in the world!!!!!
Just look at her…..damn, this girl is confident. I LOVE this!
Here she is dominating in the ring……and her opponent’s arm is about to POP the hell out.
Here she is on Jimmy Fallon:
On Jimmy Kimmel:
On Conan O’Brien:
And I just bought her book, which looks amazing. I’ll write a post on that as soon as I’ve read in completely.
Great article in Rolling Stone:
Enough said. She’s awesome.
