If you haven’t seen the documentary “A Piece of Work” featuring the late great Joan Rivers then you need to stop whatever you’re doing and watch this! –It’s on Netflix.
This woman is a mentor of mine even though we never met. Her work ethic is unparalleled, and she embodied the spirit of “do what you love.” She wasn’t a 9-5er…..she lived, loved and breathed her work and she worked every single day. Amazing woman, amazing story.
She continued to battle hurdles until her last year, and she never internalized the fear, she always pushed through.
Below is a trailer for the documentary “A Piece of Work”. Please watch it. (My favorite part is when she discusses her empty calendar and says that’s her biggest fear, not having any work lined up.)
I just picked up Melissa Rivers (her daughter’s) memoir “The Book of Joan: Tales of Mirth, Mischief, and Manipulation with Joan,” I’m only 2 pages into it and I’m already laughing out loud.
